We are pleased to write in strong support of Brad Bevans in his capacity as a custom home builder.  When we first decided to build a new home on our acreage, a screening of a number of prospective builders revealed that the majority of larger home builders which we encountered were lacking attention to detail and/or the flexibility required to build a custom home.  Acting on a recommendation from Glenwood homes, we contacted Brad to discuss plans for our home.  In our initial meeting, it quickly became apparent that Brad was imaginative and very knowledgeable.  He had numerous suggestions as to how to improve our working plans, and he ensured that we were aware of all of the options. We met on several occasions to discuss planning of the home, and in every case, Brad was able to meet us at our home rather than requiring us to come to his office.  What also impressed us immediately was his ability to strike a balance between respecting our wishes, and convincing us of what he believed to be beneficial to us n the long term.  Indeed, it was Brad's persistence which led us to have a walk-out basement, something that we would now not want to miss.  Another attraction of Bradford homes was the "cost plus" system which ensured that the customer is not double billed for upgrades.  Finally, the notion that Brad was familiar with new technology, such as the design of his own web page, or the use of digital cameras, suggested a certain level of sophistication, which we hoped would be reflected in his skills as a builder.  We were not disappointed.
  Construction on our home started on time and proceeded rapidly.  The transitions among various subcontractors were smoothly, and there was little if any down time during the whole construction period such that the home was completed prior to schedule.  During construction, Brad contacted us virtually every day to inform us about the progress, and he could always be reached directly if issues needed to be discussed.  In addition, Brad usually informed us of pending decisions on our part well in advance so that we would have ample time to select the appropriate interior without having to rush.  During the construction period, the few problems which we encountered were effectively handled, and changes to the original design were incorporated without problems.  This may in part be due to the notion that with Brad, a customer deals directly with the president of the company rather than a series of middlemen, and in part due to Brad's hands-on approach and respect among his contractors.  Overall, there was only one major glitch which arose from a miscommunication between us and one of the contractors, and upon discussion and a logical approach, the issue was resolved to everyone's satisfaction.  During the course of construction, we decided to do some of the interior work ourselves, and despite the tight schedule, Brad went out of his way to accommodate us in that respect, and moreover, Brad offered us the use of some of his equipment as well as physically lending us a hand.  We believe that examples such as this say much about his attitude towards his customers.

Now, even after completion of the home, his excellent customer service continues.  Small problems which occur with every new home are taken care of immediately.  Also, he routinely schedules the painters to return in order to touch up any scrapes and fix any damage which might have occurred during the move. Again, this approach towards customer satisfaction goes well beyond the typical standard among home builders.

Finally, let us comment on the quality of the home.  Brad does not build cheap homes.  This is not to necessarily reflect the cost of the materials he uses, but rather their quality.  Brad has high standards towards workmanship, materials and customer satisfaction.  Although, his first choice may frequently be a higher end supplier, Brad provides, and is happy to use alternatives which are less expensive without compromising quality.  Ultimately, the customer has full control about every item in the home. 

In summary, our experience with Bradford Homes was very positive, and we highly recommend Brad as a builder of any type of home.
